🕯️ Advent · Advent week 2
🔔 Get the Road Ready
John the Baptist tells people to make room before Jesus walks in.
Malachi 3:1 · Malachi 3 and Luke 3
““Behold, I send my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me; and the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to his temple; and the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, behold, he comes!” says Yahweh of Armies.”
Say it
Practice Malachi 3:1
Tap the words in order. The blanks follow the verse from left to right.

Before a king comes down a dusty road, someone goes first and shouts, move the rocks. John’s job was that shout. He did not want the fancy chair. He wanted people to tell the truth and make space.
Getting ready for Jesus is often small. Say sorry. Share the last cookie. Put the phone down while you listen. The Lord who is coming does not need a parade of stuff. He needs a clear path through an ordinary Tuesday.
Prayer
Lord, show us one rock to move out of the way so we can see you coming. Amen.
Challenge
Each person names one kind thing they will do tomorrow to make the house gentler.
For the adult
If Advent has become shopping, let this night be the reset: verse, prayer, bed.
