🕯️ Advent · Advent week 3
🌷 Mary Says Yes
A young woman trusts God with a world-changing hello.
Luke 1:38 · Luke 1
“Mary said, “Behold, the servant of the Lord; let it be done to me according to your word.” The angel departed from her.”
Say it
Practice Luke 1:38
Tap the words in order. The blanks follow the verse from left to right.
said,“Behold,theservantoftheLord;letitbetometoyourword.”Theangeldepartedfromher.
Mary was not looking for a speech. An angel found her anyway. The news was huge and a little frightening. She asked a real question, then she said the bravest small sentence: let it be done.
You do not have to understand every part of God’s plan before you trust him with tonight. Mary’s yes did not make her famous in her kitchen. It made her faithful. Joy can sit beside nerves. That is allowed in Advent.
Prayer
God, when we are unsure, give us Mary’s courage to say yes to you. Amen.
Challenge
Practice saying Luke 1:38 slowly, then tell God one yes you can offer this week.
For the adult
Let children ask hard questions. Mary did.
