🕯️ Advent · Advent week 4
🌙 Almost Christmas
The promised child is almost here, and his names are too big for a stocking.
Isaiah 9:6 · Isaiah 9
“For to us a child is born. To us a son is given; and the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Say it
Practice Isaiah 9:6
Tap the words in order. The blanks follow the verse from left to right.

Isaiah named the baby before the manger was built. Wonderful. Counselor. Mighty God. Prince of Peace. Those are not cute nicknames. They are a promise that this child can carry a whole world on his shoulders.
The last days before Christmas can get loud. Let this night be quieter than the list. Read the names. Pick one. Ask what it would mean if Jesus really is that for your house tonight.
Prayer
Prince of Peace, come close to our waiting. Teach us your names and let us rest. Amen.
Challenge
Write one of Jesus’ names from Isaiah 9:6 on a scrap of paper and put it by the bed.
For the adult
If the house is chaotic, skip everything except the verse and the prayer.
