New beginnings
God is good at new starts: a rainbow, a return from exile, a risen Jesus. Yesterday does not get the last word.
1. Deuteronomy 11:12
“a land which Yahweh your God cares for. Yahweh your God’s eyes are always on it, from the beginning of the year even to the end of the year.”
2. Acts 10:37
“you yourselves know what happened, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;”
3. 2 John 1:5
“Now I beg you, dear lady, not as though I wrote to you a new commandment, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.”
4. Genesis 41:21
“and when they had eaten them up, it couldn’t be known that they had eaten them, but they were still ugly, as at the beginning. So I awoke.”
5. Matthew 19:8
“He said to them, “Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it has not been so.”
6. Colossians 1:18
“He is the head of the body, the assembly, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.”
7. Revelation 3:14
““To the angel of the assembly in Laodicea write: “The Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of God’s creation, says these things:”
8. Isaiah 40:21
“Haven’t you known? Haven’t you heard? Haven’t you been told from the beginning? Haven’t you understood from the foundations of the earth?”
