Friends
Neighbors
A neighbor is anyone near enough to need you, even a stranger on the road. Jesus told the story of the good Samaritan to show it.
1. Genesis 23:4
““I am a stranger and a foreigner living with you. Give me a possession of a burying-place with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight.””
2. Exodus 22:8
“If the thief isn’t found, then the master of the house shall come near to God, to find out if he hasn’t put his hand to his neighbor’s goods.”
3. Joshua 9:16
“At the end of three days after they had made a covenant with them, they heard that they were their neighbors, and that they lived among them.”
4. 1 Chronicles 29:15
“For we are strangers before you, and foreigners, as all our fathers were. Our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is no remaining.”
5. Zechariah 8:16
“These are the things that you shall do: speak every man the truth with his neighbor. Execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates,”
6. Exodus 18:16
“When they have a matter, they come to me, and I judge between a man and his neighbor, and I make them know the statutes of God, and his laws.””
7. 1 Samuel 15:28
“Samuel said to him, “Yahweh has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today, and has given it to a neighbor of yours who is better than you.”
8. Luke 15:9
“When she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the drachma which I had lost.’”
