Baptism
Baptism is a public way to say Jesus has washed us and we belong to him. Jesus himself stepped into the river.

“He said therefore to the multitudes who went out to be baptized by him, “You offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?”
3. Acts 8:12
“But when they believed Philip preaching good news concerning God’s Kingdom and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.”
4. 1 Corinthians 12:13
“For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all given to drink into one Spirit.”
5. Acts 8:36
“As they went on the way, they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “Behold, here is water. What is keeping me from being baptized?””
6. Acts 18:8
“Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord with all his house. Many of the Corinthians, when they heard, believed and were baptized.”

“Or else what will they do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead aren’t raised at all, why then are they baptized for the dead?”
