💧 Zephaniah 2
Zephaniah 2 opens with these words: “Gather yourselves together, yes, gather together, you nation that has no shame,” The line to keep is Zephaniah 2:6: “The sea coast will be pastures, with cottages for shepherds and folds for flocks.” Carry the word “coast” from that verse into the rest of the day.
Zephaniah 2 is a real chapter from the Old Testament. It starts, “Gather yourselves together, yes, gather together, you nation that has no shame,” That is not a motto invented for a poster. It is the first sentence a family hears when this page is opened at night.
Keep going a little further. The chapter also says, “I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the insults of the children of Ammon, with which they have reproached my people, and magnified themselves against their border.” Zephaniah 2 opens with these words: “Gather yourselves together, yes, gather together, you nation that has no shame,” The line to keep is Zephaniah 2:6: “The sea coast will be pastures, with cottages for shepherds and folds for flocks.” Carry the word “coast” from that verse into the rest of the day.
The line worth learning out loud is Zephaniah 2:6: “The sea coast will be pastures, with cottages for shepherds and folds for flocks.” If the rest of the chapter feels crowded, hold that one sentence until the room is quiet.
What happens first in Zephaniah 2? Then try this: Read “The sea coast will be pastures, with cottages for shepherds and folds for flocks.” once more. What does it show you about God? You do not have to finish every verse. You can close the book after the memory verse and still have read the Bible together.
“The sea coast will be pastures, with cottages for shepherds and folds for flocks.”
