🌊 Zechariah 2
Zechariah 2 opens with these words: “I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand.” The line to keep is Zechariah 2:1: “I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand.” Carry the word “lifted” from that verse into the rest of the day.
Zechariah 2 is a real chapter from the Old Testament. It starts, “I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand.” That is not a motto invented for a poster. It is the first sentence a family hears when this page is opened at night.
Keep going a little further. The chapter also says, “‘Come, Zion! Escape, you who dwell with the daughter of Babylon.’” Zechariah 2 opens with these words: “I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand.” The line to keep is Zechariah 2:1: “I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand.” Carry the word “lifted” from that verse into the rest of the day.
The line worth learning out loud is Zechariah 2:1: “I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand.” If the rest of the chapter feels crowded, hold that one sentence until the room is quiet.
What happens first in Zechariah 2? Then try this: Read “I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand.” once more. What does it show you about God? You do not have to finish every verse. You can close the book after the memory verse and still have read the Bible together.
“I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand.”
