🎺 Psalms 87
Psalms 87 opens with these words: “His foundation is in the holy mountains.” The line to keep is Psalms 87:2: “Yahweh loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.” Carry the word “loves” from that verse into the rest of the day.
Psalms 87 is a real chapter from the Old Testament. It starts, “His foundation is in the holy mountains.” That is not a motto invented for a poster. It is the first sentence a family hears when this page is opened at night.
Keep going a little further. The chapter also says, “I will record Rahab and Babylon among those who acknowledge me. Behold, Philistia, Tyre, and also Ethiopia: “This one was born there.”” Psalms 87 opens with these words: “His foundation is in the holy mountains.” The line to keep is Psalms 87:2: “Yahweh loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.” Carry the word “loves” from that verse into the rest of the day.
The line worth learning out loud is Psalms 87:2: “Yahweh loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.” If the rest of the chapter feels crowded, hold that one sentence until the room is quiet.
What happens first in Psalms 87? Then try this: Read “Yahweh loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.” once more. What does it show you about God? You do not have to finish every verse. You can close the book after the memory verse and still have read the Bible together.
“Yahweh loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.”
