📖 Psalms 45
Psalms 45 opens with these words: “My heart overflows with a noble theme. I recite my verses for the king. My tongue is like the pen of a skillful writer.” The line to keep is Psalms 45:7: “You have loved righteousness, and hated wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows.” Carry the word “loved” from that verse into the rest of the day.
Psalms 45 is a real chapter from the Old Testament. It starts, “My heart overflows with a noble theme. I recite my verses for the king. My tongue is like the pen of a skillful writer.” That is not a motto invented for a poster. It is the first sentence a family hears when this page is opened at night.
Keep going a little further. The chapter also says, “Kings’ daughters are among your honorable women. At your right hand the queen stands in gold of Ophir.” Psalms 45 opens with these words: “My heart overflows with a noble theme.
The line worth learning out loud is Psalms 45:7: “You have loved righteousness, and hated wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows.” If the rest of the chapter feels crowded, hold that one sentence until the room is quiet.
What happens first in Psalms 45? Then try this: Read “You have loved righteousness, and hated wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil…” once more. What does it show you about God? You do not have to finish every verse. You can close the book after the memory verse and still have read the Bible together.
“You have loved righteousness, and hated wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows.”
