🌙 Proverbs 2
Proverbs 2 opens with these words: “My son, if you will receive my words, and store up my commandments within you;” The line to keep is Proverbs 2:5: “then you will understand the fear of Yahweh, and find the knowledge of God.” Carry the word “understand” from that verse into the rest of the day.
Proverbs 2 is a real chapter from the Old Testament. It starts, “My son, if you will receive my words, and store up my commandments within you;” That is not a motto invented for a poster. It is the first sentence a family hears when this page is opened at night.
Keep going a little further. The chapter also says, “to deliver you from the way of evil, from the men who speak perverse things;” Proverbs 2 opens with these words: “My son, if you will receive my words, and store up my commandments within you;” The line to keep is Proverbs 2:5: “then you will understand the fear of Yahweh, and find the knowledge of God.” Carry the word “understand” from that verse into the rest of the day.
The line worth learning out loud is Proverbs 2:5: “then you will understand the fear of Yahweh, and find the knowledge of God.” If the rest of the chapter feels crowded, hold that one sentence until the room is quiet.
What happens first in Proverbs 2? Then try this: Read “then you will understand the fear of Yahweh, and find the knowledge of God.” once more. What does it show you about God? You do not have to finish every verse. You can close the book after the memory verse and still have read the Bible together.
“then you will understand the fear of Yahweh, and find the knowledge of God.”
