☀️ Numbers 13
Numbers 13 opens with these words: “Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,” The line to keep is Numbers 13:2: ““Send men, that they may spy out the land of Canaan, which I give to the children of Israel. Of every tribe of their fathers, you shall send a man, every one…” Carry the word “send” from that verse into the rest of the day.
Numbers 13 is a real chapter from the Old Testament. It starts, “Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,” That is not a motto invented for a poster. It is the first sentence a family hears when this page is opened at night.
Keep going a little further. The chapter also says, “Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said to them, “Go up this way by the South, and go up into the hill country.” Numbers 13 opens with these words: “Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,” The line to keep is Numbers 13:2: ““Send men, that they may spy out the land of Canaan, which I give to the children of Israel. Of every tribe of their fathers, you shall send a man, every one…” Carry the word “send” from that verse into the rest of the day.
The line worth learning out loud is Numbers 13:2: ““Send men, that they may spy out the land of Canaan, which I give to the children of Israel. Of every tribe of their fathers, you shall send a man, every one a prince among them.”” If the rest of the chapter feels crowded, hold that one sentence until the room is quiet.
What happens first in Numbers 13? Then try this: Read ““Send men, that they may spy out the land of Canaan, which I give to the children of Israel. Of every tribe…” once more. What does it show you about God? You do not have to finish every verse. You can close the book after the memory verse and still have read the Bible together.
““Send men, that they may spy out the land of Canaan, which I give to the children of Israel. Of every tribe of their fathers, you shall send a man, every one a prince among them.””
