🌙 Leviticus 5
Leviticus 5 opens with these words: ““‘If anyone sins, in that he hears the voice of adjuration, he being a witness, whether he has seen or known, if he doesn’t report it,…” The line to keep is Leviticus 5:1: ““‘If anyone sins, in that he hears the voice of adjuration, he being a witness, whether he has seen or known, if he doesn’t report it, then he shall bear his…” Carry the word “anyone” from that verse into the rest of the day.
Leviticus 5 is a real chapter from the Old Testament. It starts, ““‘If anyone sins, in that he hears the voice of adjuration, he being a witness, whether he has seen or known, if he doesn’t report it, then he shall bear his iniquity.” That is not a motto invented for a poster. It is the first sentence a family hears when this page is opened at night.
Keep going a little further. The chapter also says, “He shall offer the second for a burnt offering, according to the ordinance; and the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin which he has sinned, and he shall be forgiven.” Leviticus 5 opens with these words: ““‘If anyone sins, in that he hears the voice of adjuration, he being a witness, whether he has seen or known, if he doesn’t report it,…” The line to keep is Leviticus 5:1: ““‘If anyone sins, in that he hears the voice of adjuration, he being a witness, whether he has seen or known, if he doesn’t report it, then he shall bear his…” Carry the word “anyone” from that verse into the rest of the day.
The line worth learning out loud is Leviticus 5:1: ““‘If anyone sins, in that he hears the voice of adjuration, he being a witness, whether he has seen or known, if he doesn’t report it, then he shall bear his iniquity.” If the rest of the chapter feels crowded, hold that one sentence until the room is quiet.
What happens first in Leviticus 5? Then try this: Read ““‘If anyone sins, in that he hears the voice of adjuration, he being a witness, whether he has seen or…” once more. What does it show you about God? You do not have to finish every verse. You can close the book after the memory verse and still have read the Bible together.
