📖 Job 42
Job 42 opens with these words: “Then Job answered Yahweh,” The line to keep is Job 42:2: ““I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be restrained.” Carry the word “know” from that verse into the rest of the day.
Job 42 is a real chapter from the Old Testament. It starts, “Then Job answered Yahweh,” That is not a motto invented for a poster. It is the first sentence a family hears when this page is opened at night.
Keep going a little further. The chapter also says, “So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did what Yahweh commanded them, and Yahweh accepted Job.” Job 42 opens with these words: “Then Job answered Yahweh,” The line to keep is Job 42:2: ““I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be restrained.” Carry the word “know” from that verse into the rest of the day.
The line worth learning out loud is Job 42:2: ““I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be restrained.” If the rest of the chapter feels crowded, hold that one sentence until the room is quiet.
What happens first in Job 42? Then try this: Read ““I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be restrained.” once more. What does it show you about God? You do not have to finish every verse. You can close the book after the memory verse and still have read the Bible together.
““I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be restrained.”
