🪨 Job 37
Job 37 opens with these words: ““Yes, at this my heart trembles, and is moved out of its place.” The line to keep is Job 37:15: “Do you know how God controls them, and causes the lightning of his cloud to shine?” Carry the word “know” from that verse into the rest of the day.
Job 37 is a real chapter from the Old Testament. It starts, ““Yes, at this my heart trembles, and is moved out of its place.” That is not a motto invented for a poster. It is the first sentence a family hears when this page is opened at night.
Keep going a little further. The chapter also says, “Whether it is for correction, or for his land, or for loving kindness, that he causes it to come.” Job 37 opens with these words: ““Yes, at this my heart trembles, and is moved out of its place.” The line to keep is Job 37:15: “Do you know how God controls them, and causes the lightning of his cloud to shine?” Carry the word “know” from that verse into the rest of the day.
The line worth learning out loud is Job 37:15: “Do you know how God controls them, and causes the lightning of his cloud to shine?” If the rest of the chapter feels crowded, hold that one sentence until the room is quiet.
What happens first in Job 37? Then try this: Read “Do you know how God controls them, and causes the lightning of his cloud to shine?” once more. What does it show you about God? You do not have to finish every verse. You can close the book after the memory verse and still have read the Bible together.
