🍞 Job 2
Job 2 opens with these words: “Again, on the day when the God’s sons came to present themselves before Yahweh, Satan came also among them to present himself before Yahweh.” The line to keep is Job 2:1: “Again, on the day when the God’s sons came to present themselves before Yahweh, Satan came also among them to present himself before Yahweh.” Carry the word “sons” from that verse into the rest of the day.
Job 2 is a real chapter from the Old Testament. It starts, “Again, on the day when the God’s sons came to present themselves before Yahweh, Satan came also among them to present himself before Yahweh.” That is not a motto invented for a poster. It is the first sentence a family hears when this page is opened at night.
Keep going a little further. The chapter also says, “So Satan went out from the presence of Yahweh, and struck Job with painful sores from the sole of his foot to his head.” Job 2 opens with these words: “Again, on the day when the God’s sons came to present themselves before Yahweh, Satan came also among them to present himself before Yahweh.” The line to keep is Job 2:1: “Again, on the day when the God’s sons came to present themselves before Yahweh, Satan came also among them to present himself before Yahweh.” Carry the word “sons” from that verse into the rest of the day.
The line worth learning out loud is Job 2:1: “Again, on the day when the God’s sons came to present themselves before Yahweh, Satan came also among them to present himself before Yahweh.” If the rest of the chapter feels crowded, hold that one sentence until the room is quiet.
What happens first in Job 2? Then try this: Read “Again, on the day when the God’s sons came to present themselves before Yahweh, Satan came also among them…” once more. What does it show you about God? You do not have to finish every verse. You can close the book after the memory verse and still have read the Bible together.
“Again, on the day when the God’s sons came to present themselves before Yahweh, Satan came also among them to present himself before Yahweh.”
