📖 Jeremiah 32
Jeremiah 32 opens with these words: “The word that came to Jeremiah from Yahweh in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar.” The line to keep is Jeremiah 32:18: “who show loving kindness to thousands, and repay the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them; the great, the mighty God, Yahweh of…” Carry the word “show” from that verse into the rest of the day.
Jeremiah 32 is a real chapter from the Old Testament. It starts, “The word that came to Jeremiah from Yahweh in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar.” That is not a motto invented for a poster. It is the first sentence a family hears when this page is opened at night.
Keep going a little further. The chapter also says, “They came in and possessed it, but they didn’t obey your voice and didn’t walk in your law. They have done nothing of all that you commanded them to do. Therefore you have caused all this evil to come upon them.” Jeremiah 32 opens with these words: “The word that came to Jeremiah from Yahweh in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar.” The line to keep is Jeremiah 32:18: “who show loving kindness to thousands, and repay the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them; the great, the mighty God, Yahweh of…” Carry the word “show” from that verse into the rest of the day.
The line worth learning out loud is Jeremiah 32:18: “who show loving kindness to thousands, and repay the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them; the great, the mighty God, Yahweh of Armies is his name;” If the rest of the chapter feels crowded, hold that one sentence until the room is quiet.
What happens first in Jeremiah 32? Then try this: Read “who show loving kindness to thousands, and repay the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their…” once more. What does it show you about God? You do not have to finish every verse. You can close the book after the memory verse and still have read the Bible together.
“who show loving kindness to thousands, and repay the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them; the great, the mighty God, Yahweh of Armies is his name;”
