🔥 Isaiah 7
Isaiah 7 opens with these words: “In the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of…” The line to keep is Isaiah 7:2: “David’s house was told, “Syria is allied with Ephraim.” His heart trembled, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest tremble with the wind.” Carry the word “david” from that verse into the rest of the day.
Isaiah 7 is a real chapter from the Old Testament. It starts, “In the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up to Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it.” That is not a motto invented for a poster. It is the first sentence a family hears when this page is opened at night.
Keep going a little further. The chapter also says, “He said, “Listen now, house of David. Is it not enough for you to try the patience of men, that you will try the patience of my God also?” Isaiah 7 opens with these words: “In the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of…” The line to keep is Isaiah 7:2: “David’s house was told, “Syria is allied with Ephraim.” His heart trembled, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest tremble with the wind.” Carry the word “david” from that verse into the rest of the day.
The line worth learning out loud is Isaiah 7:2: “David’s house was told, “Syria is allied with Ephraim.” His heart trembled, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest tremble with the wind.” If the rest of the chapter feels crowded, hold that one sentence until the room is quiet.
What happens first in Isaiah 7? Then try this: Read “David’s house was told, “Syria is allied with Ephraim.” His heart trembled, and the heart of his people, as…” once more. What does it show you about God? You do not have to finish every verse. You can close the book after the memory verse and still have read the Bible together.
“David’s house was told, “Syria is allied with Ephraim.” His heart trembled, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest tremble with the wind.”
