📖 Isaiah 52
Isaiah 52 opens with these words: “Awake, awake! Put on your strength, Zion. Put on your beautiful garments, Jerusalem, the holy city: for from now on the uncircumcised and…” The line to keep is Isaiah 52:7: “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion,…” Carry the word “beautiful” from that verse into the rest of the day.
Isaiah 52 is a real chapter from the Old Testament. It starts, “Awake, awake! Put on your strength, Zion. Put on your beautiful garments, Jerusalem, the holy city: for from now on the uncircumcised and the unclean will no more come into you.” That is not a motto invented for a poster. It is the first sentence a family hears when this page is opened at night.
Keep going a little further. The chapter also says, “Your watchmen lift up their voice, together they sing; for they shall see eye to eye, when Yahweh returns to Zion.” Isaiah 52 opens with these words: “Awake, awake!
The line worth learning out loud is Isaiah 52:7: “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!”” If the rest of the chapter feels crowded, hold that one sentence until the room is quiet.
What happens first in Isaiah 52? Then try this: Read “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings…” once more. What does it show you about God? You do not have to finish every verse. You can close the book after the memory verse and still have read the Bible together.
“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!””
