🕊️ Isaiah 41
Isaiah 41 opens with these words: ““Keep silent before me, islands, and let the peoples renew their strength. Let them come near, then let them speak. Let’s meet together…” The line to keep is Isaiah 41:5: “The islands have seen, and fear. The ends of the earth tremble. They approach, and come.” Carry the word “islands” from that verse into the rest of the day.
Isaiah 41 is a real chapter from the Old Testament. It starts, ““Keep silent before me, islands, and let the peoples renew their strength. Let them come near, then let them speak. Let’s meet together for judgment.” That is not a motto invented for a poster. It is the first sentence a family hears when this page is opened at night.
Keep going a little further. The chapter also says, “Behold, I have made you into a new sharp threshing instrument with teeth. You will thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and will make the hills like chaff.” Isaiah 41 opens with these words: ““Keep silent before me, islands, and let the peoples renew their strength. Let them come near, then let them speak. Let’s meet together…” The line to keep is Isaiah 41:5: “The islands have seen, and fear. The ends of the earth tremble. They approach, and come.” Carry the word “islands” from that verse into the rest of the day.
The line worth learning out loud is Isaiah 41:5: “The islands have seen, and fear. The ends of the earth tremble. They approach, and come.” If the rest of the chapter feels crowded, hold that one sentence until the room is quiet.
What happens first in Isaiah 41? Then try this: Read “The islands have seen, and fear. The ends of the earth tremble. They approach, and come.” once more. What does it show you about God? You do not have to finish every verse. You can close the book after the memory verse and still have read the Bible together.
“The islands have seen, and fear. The ends of the earth tremble. They approach, and come.”
