🎺 Genesis 5
Genesis 5 opens with these words: “This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, he made him in God’s likeness.” The line to keep is Genesis 5:1: “This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, he made him in God’s likeness.” Carry the word “book” from that verse into the rest of the day.
Genesis 5 is a real chapter from the Old Testament. It starts, “This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, he made him in God’s likeness.” That is not a motto invented for a poster. It is the first sentence a family hears when this page is opened at night.
Keep going a little further. The chapter also says, “All of the days of Mahalalel were eight hundred ninety-five years, then he died.” Genesis 5 opens with these words: “This is the book of the generations of Adam. What happens first in Genesis 5? Then try this: Read “This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, he made him in God’s likeness.” once more. What does it show you about God? You do not have to finish every verse. You can close the book after the memory verse and still have read the Bible together.
