⭐ Genesis 15
Genesis 15 opens with these words: “After these things Yahweh’s word came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Don’t be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great…” The line to keep is Genesis 15:2: “Abram said, “Lord Yahweh, what will you give me, since I go childless, and he who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?”” Carry the word “abram” from that verse into the rest of the day.
Genesis 15 is a real chapter from the Old Testament. It starts, “After these things Yahweh’s word came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Don’t be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.”” That is not a motto invented for a poster. It is the first sentence a family hears when this page is opened at night.
Keep going a little further. The chapter also says, “The birds of prey came down on the carcasses, and Abram drove them away.” Genesis 15 opens with these words: “After these things Yahweh’s word came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Don’t be afraid, Abram.
The line worth learning out loud is Genesis 15:2: “Abram said, “Lord Yahweh, what will you give me, since I go childless, and he who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?”” If the rest of the chapter feels crowded, hold that one sentence until the room is quiet.
What happens first in Genesis 15? Then try this: Read “Abram said, “Lord Yahweh, what will you give me, since I go childless, and he who will inherit my estate is…” once more. What does it show you about God? You do not have to finish every verse. You can close the book after the memory verse and still have read the Bible together.
