👑 Genesis 10
Genesis 10 opens with these words: “Now this is the history of the generations of the sons of Noah and of Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Sons were born to them after the flood.” The line to keep is Genesis 10:21: “Children were also born to Shem, the father of all the children of Eber, the elder brother of Japheth.” Carry the word “children” from that verse into the rest of the day.
Genesis 10 is a real chapter from the Old Testament. It starts, “Now this is the history of the generations of the sons of Noah and of Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Sons were born to them after the flood.” That is not a motto invented for a poster. It is the first sentence a family hears when this page is opened at night.
Keep going a little further. The chapter also says, “the Hivites, the Arkites, the Sinites,” Genesis 10 opens with these words: “Now this is the history of the generations of the sons of Noah and of Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Sons were born to them after the flood.” The line to keep is Genesis 10:21: “Children were also born to Shem, the father of all the children of Eber, the elder brother of Japheth.” Carry the word “children” from that verse into the rest of the day.
The line worth learning out loud is Genesis 10:21: “Children were also born to Shem, the father of all the children of Eber, the elder brother of Japheth.” If the rest of the chapter feels crowded, hold that one sentence until the room is quiet.
What happens first in Genesis 10? Then try this: Read “Children were also born to Shem, the father of all the children of Eber, the elder brother of Japheth.” once more. What does it show you about God? You do not have to finish every verse. You can close the book after the memory verse and still have read the Bible together.
“Children were also born to Shem, the father of all the children of Eber, the elder brother of Japheth.”
