🔥 Ezekiel 11
Ezekiel 11 opens with these words: “Moreover the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me to the east gate of Yahweh’s house, which looks eastward. Behold, twenty-five men were at…” The line to keep is Ezekiel 11:8: “You have feared the sword; and I will bring the sword on you,” says the Lord Yahweh.” Carry the word “feared” from that verse into the rest of the day.
Ezekiel 11 is a real chapter from the Old Testament. It starts, “Moreover the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me to the east gate of Yahweh’s house, which looks eastward. Behold, twenty-five men were at the door of the gate; and I saw among them Jaazaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.” That is not a motto invented for a poster. It is the first sentence a family hears when this page is opened at night.
Keep going a little further. The chapter also says, “When I prophesied, Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then fell I down on my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, “Ah Lord Yahweh! will you make a full end of the remnant of Israel?”” Ezekiel 11 opens with these words: “Moreover the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me to the east gate of Yahweh’s house, which looks eastward. Behold, twenty-five men were at…” The line to keep is Ezekiel 11:8: “You have feared the sword; and I will bring the sword on you,” says the Lord Yahweh.” Carry the word “feared” from that verse into the rest of the day.
The line worth learning out loud is Ezekiel 11:8: “You have feared the sword; and I will bring the sword on you,” says the Lord Yahweh.” If the rest of the chapter feels crowded, hold that one sentence until the room is quiet.
What happens first in Ezekiel 11? Then try this: Read “You have feared the sword; and I will bring the sword on you,” says the Lord Yahweh.” once more. What does it show you about God? You do not have to finish every verse. You can close the book after the memory verse and still have read the Bible together.
“You have feared the sword; and I will bring the sword on you,” says the Lord Yahweh.”
