🌾 Exodus 11
Exodus 11 opens with these words: “Yahweh said to Moses, “Yet one plague more will I bring on Pharaoh, and on Egypt; afterwards he will let you go. When he lets you go, he…” The line to keep is Exodus 11:10: “Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh, and Yahweh hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he didn’t let the children of Israel go out of his land.” Carry the word “moses” from that verse into the rest of the day.
Exodus 11 is a real chapter from the Old Testament. It starts, “Yahweh said to Moses, “Yet one plague more will I bring on Pharaoh, and on Egypt; afterwards he will let you go. When he lets you go, he will surely thrust you out altogether.” That is not a motto invented for a poster. It is the first sentence a family hears when this page is opened at night.
Keep going a little further. The chapter also says, “There shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there has not been, nor shall be any more.” Exodus 11 opens with these words: “Yahweh said to Moses, “Yet one plague more will I bring on Pharaoh, and on Egypt; afterwards he will let you go. The line worth learning out loud is Exodus 11:10: “Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh, and Yahweh hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he didn’t let the children of Israel go out of his land.” If the rest of the chapter feels crowded, hold that one sentence until the room is quiet.
What happens first in Exodus 11? Then try this: Read “Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh, and Yahweh hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he didn’t let…” once more. What does it show you about God? You do not have to finish every verse. You can close the book after the memory verse and still have read the Bible together.
