🕊️ Esther 6
Esther 6 opens with these words: “On that night, the king couldn’t sleep. He commanded the book of records of the chronicles to be brought, and they were read to the king.” The line to keep is Esther 6:7: “Haman said to the king, “For the man whom the king delights to honor,” Carry the word “haman” from that verse into the rest of the day.
Esther 6 is a real chapter from the Old Testament. It starts, “On that night, the king couldn’t sleep. He commanded the book of records of the chronicles to be brought, and they were read to the king.” That is not a motto invented for a poster. It is the first sentence a family hears when this page is opened at night.
Keep going a little further. The chapter also says, “let royal clothing be brought which the king uses to wear, and the horse that the king rides on, and on the head of which a crown royal is set.” Esther 6 opens with these words: “On that night, the king couldn’t sleep. He commanded the book of records of the chronicles to be brought, and they were read to the king.” The line to keep is Esther 6:7: “Haman said to the king, “For the man whom the king delights to honor,” Carry the word “haman” from that verse into the rest of the day.
The line worth learning out loud is Esther 6:7: “Haman said to the king, “For the man whom the king delights to honor,” If the rest of the chapter feels crowded, hold that one sentence until the room is quiet.
