🌿 Daniel 12
Daniel 12 opens with these words: ““At that time Michael will stand up, the great prince who stands for the children of your people; and there will be a time of trouble,…” The line to keep is Daniel 12:8: “I heard, but I didn’t understand. Then I said, “My lord, what will be the outcome of these things?”” Carry the word “heard” from that verse into the rest of the day.
Daniel 12 is a real chapter from the Old Testament. It starts, ““At that time Michael will stand up, the great prince who stands for the children of your people; and there will be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time. At that time your people will be delivered, everyone who is found written in the book.” That is not a motto invented for a poster. It is the first sentence a family hears when this page is opened at night.
Keep going a little further. The chapter also says, “I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and swore by him who lives forever that it will be for a time, times, and a half; and when they have finished breaking in pieces the power of the holy people, all these things will be finished.” Daniel 12 opens with these words: ““At that time Michael will stand up, the great prince who stands for the children of your people; and there will be a time of trouble,…” The line to keep is Daniel 12:8: “I heard, but I didn’t understand. Then I said, “My lord, what will be the outcome of these things?”” Carry the word “heard” from that verse into the rest of the day.
The line worth learning out loud is Daniel 12:8: “I heard, but I didn’t understand. Then I said, “My lord, what will be the outcome of these things?”” If the rest of the chapter feels crowded, hold that one sentence until the room is quiet.
What happens first in Daniel 12? Then try this: Read “I heard, but I didn’t understand. Then I said, “My lord, what will be the outcome of these things?”” once more. What does it show you about God? You do not have to finish every verse. You can close the book after the memory verse and still have read the Bible together.
