🌴 Holy Week · Holy Saturday
🪨 A Quiet Stone
The friends of Jesus wait. The stone is heavy. Sunday has not come yet.
Matthew 27:59-60 · Matthew 27
“Joseph took the body, and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had cut out in the rock, and he rolled a great stone against the door of the tomb, and departed.”

Saturday is the in-between day. Joseph is kind. The tomb is real. Waiting is part of the story, and children already know how long a wait can feel.
You do not have to fill the silence with a lesson. Light one lamp. Say we are waiting with Jesus’ friends. Hope can be quiet and still be hope.
Prayer
Lord, teach us to wait when we cannot see the morning yet. Amen.
Challenge
Place a stone on the table tonight. Move it away on Easter morning.
For the adult
This is a good low-energy night. Rest counts as discipleship.
