Palm Sunday is loud on purpose. People laid down cloaks. Children shouted Hosanna, which is a cry for save us, please. Jesus did not grab a war horse. He came in peace.
You can wave real branches or paper ones. The point is the welcome. Jesus is King, and he is kind. The same crowd will get confused later this week. Today we practice the true shout.
Prayer
Son of David, we shout Hosanna. Come into our house in peace. Amen.
Challenge
March once around the room saying Hosanna, then sit and thank Jesus for coming gently.
For the adult
Save the somber tone for Friday. Sunday is allowed to be glad.
