📖 Jealous beside Deuteronomy 5:9
When jealous is loud, Deuteronomy 5:9 is a sentence you can borrow. “You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them; for I, Yahweh, your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, and on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate me;” The other two verses on this page stay with the same need.

Lord, this is a jealous night. Keep Deuteronomy 5:9 close enough to remember. Amen.
Two-minute challenge
Say Deuteronomy 5:9 out loud once, then tell one person in the house what feeling it names.
Parent tip
If the feeling is bigger than a verse, stay in the room. Deuteronomy 5:9 is a companion, not a fix-it line. The other two verses are for a second night if this one is enough.
