silver in Genesis 44

This thing shows up in Genesis 44:2: “Put my cup, the silver cup, in the sack’s mouth of the youngest, with his grain money.” He did according to the word that Joseph had spoken.” The Bible is not talking about a sticker. It is talking about a real thing in a real place.

Genesis 44:2

“Put my cup, the silver cup, in the sack’s mouth of the youngest, with his grain money.” He did according to the word that Joseph had spoken.”

What kids can learn

When you hear silver in Genesis, remember the sentence around it. God put this thing in the story on purpose.

Read Genesis 44:2 again tomorrow and ask what the thing is doing in the sentence, not only what it looks like.
