salt in 2 Samuel 8

This thing shows up in 2 Samuel 8:13: “David earned a reputation when he returned from striking down eighteen thousand men of the Syrians in the Valley of Salt.” The Bible is not talking about a sticker. It is talking about a real thing in a real place.

2 Samuel 8:13

“David earned a reputation when he returned from striking down eighteen thousand men of the Syrians in the Valley of Salt.”

What kids can learn

When you hear salt in 2 Samuel, remember the sentence around it. God put this thing in the story on purpose.

Read 2 Samuel 8:13 again tomorrow and ask what the thing is doing in the sentence, not only what it looks like.
