gold in Genesis 44

This thing shows up in Genesis 44:8: “Behold, the money, which we found in our sacks’ mouths, we brought again to you out of the land of Canaan. How then should we steal silver…” The Bible is not talking about a sticker. It is talking about a real thing in a real place.

Genesis 44:8

“Behold, the money, which we found in our sacks’ mouths, we brought again to you out of the land of Canaan. How then should we steal silver or gold out of your lord’s house?”

What kids can learn

When you hear gold in Genesis, remember the sentence around it. God put this thing in the story on purpose.

Read Genesis 44:8 again tomorrow and ask what the thing is doing in the sentence, not only what it looks like.
