gold in Genesis 41

This thing shows up in Genesis 41:42: “Pharaoh took off his signet ring from his hand, and put it on Joseph’s hand, and arrayed him in robes of fine linen, and put a gold chain…” The Bible is not talking about a sticker. It is talking about a real thing in a real place.

Genesis 41:42

“Pharaoh took off his signet ring from his hand, and put it on Joseph’s hand, and arrayed him in robes of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck,”

What kids can learn

When you hear gold in Genesis, remember the sentence around it. God put this thing in the story on purpose.

Read Genesis 41:42 again tomorrow and ask what the thing is doing in the sentence, not only what it looks like.
