gold in Genesis 24

This thing shows up in Genesis 24:22: “As the camels had done drinking, the man took a golden ring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight…” The Bible is not talking about a sticker. It is talking about a real thing in a real place.

Genesis 24:22

“As the camels had done drinking, the man took a golden ring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold,”

What kids can learn

When you hear gold in Genesis, remember the sentence around it. God put this thing in the story on purpose.

Read Genesis 24:22 again tomorrow and ask what the thing is doing in the sentence, not only what it looks like.
