bread in Genesis 45

This thing shows up in Genesis 45:23: “He sent the following to his father: ten donkeys loaded with the good things of Egypt, and ten female donkeys loaded with grain and bread…” The Bible is not talking about a sticker. It is talking about a real thing in a real place.

What kids can learn

When you hear bread in Genesis, remember the sentence around it. God put this thing in the story on purpose.

Read Genesis 45:23 again tomorrow and ask what the thing is doing in the sentence, not only what it looks like.
