SWAH-loh
This creature shows up in Psalms 56:1: “Be merciful to me, God, for man wants to swallow me up. All day long, he attacks and oppresses me.” The Bible is not talking about a sticker. It is talking about a real creature in a real place.

“Be merciful to me, God, for man wants to swallow me up. All day long, he attacks and oppresses me.”
What kids can learn
When you hear swallow in Psalms, remember the sentence around it. God put this creature in the story on purpose.
