deer in Lamentations 1
DEER
This creature shows up in Lamentations 1:6: “All majesty has departed from the daughter of Zion. Her princes have become like deer that find no pasture. They have gone without…” The Bible is not talking about a sticker. It is talking about a real creature in a real place.
Lamentations 1:6
“All majesty has departed from the daughter of Zion. Her princes have become like deer that find no pasture. They have gone without strength before the pursuer.”
What kids can learn
When you hear deer in Lamentations, remember the sentence around it. God put this creature in the story on purpose.
Read Lamentations 1:6 again tomorrow and ask what the creature is doing in the sentence, not only what it looks like.
