calf in 2 Samuel 6

This creature shows up in 2 Samuel 6:13: “When those who bore Yahweh’s ark had gone six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fattened calf.” The Bible is not talking about a sticker. It is talking about a real creature in a real place.

2 Samuel 6:13

“When those who bore Yahweh’s ark had gone six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fattened calf.”

What kids can learn

When you hear calf in 2 Samuel, remember the sentence around it. God put this creature in the story on purpose.

Read 2 Samuel 6:13 again tomorrow and ask what the creature is doing in the sentence, not only what it looks like.
