Morning
On the way out, whisper Judges 1:1. It says, “After the death of Joshua, the children of Israel asked of Yahweh, saying, “Who should go up for us first against the Canaanites, to fight against…” Name one ordinary thing — a backpack, a sibling, a teacher — that this verse can touch.
Bedtime prayer
God, we bring you January 15. Let “After the death of Joshua, the children of Israel asked of Yahweh, saying, “Who should go up for us first against the Canaanites, to fight against…” be the last loud sentence in this house. Keep us, and keep the people we love. Amen.
