Hosea
Written by Hosea. Written for Israel, loved by God even after they wandered.
Big picture in three sentences
Hosea lives his sermon: he keeps loving a wife who leaves, as a picture of God's love.
Israel has chased other gods, and the pain is real.
God still says he will heal their waywardness and love them freely.
Hosea is one of the clearest pictures of God's loyal love.
Key verse · Hosea 6:3
“Let us acknowledge Yahweh. Let us press on to know Yahweh. As surely as the sun rises, Yahweh will appear. He will come to us like the rain, like the spring rain that waters the earth.””
